World heritage

The Holsten Gate in Lübeck
The imposing town houses and redbrick Gothic churches of Lübeck are designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lübeck is also the home of the Mann brothers, marzipan and St Mary's Church. The civic church of St. Mary is Germany's third largest church, marzipan is the town's most famous product, considered by many the finest in the world, and Buddenbrooks House is home to an exhibition on the life and works of Heinrich and Thomas Mann, two of the 20th century's foremost authors.
