Museums
Rheinsberg is a destination on the German Ceramics Route and has a fascinating museum devoted to the history of ceramics production. In Rheinsberg Palace Museum you can marvel at Prussian pomp and splendour, and in the Tucholsky Museum you can learn about the life and work of Kurt Tucholsky, the famous German author and social critic. Ceramics Museum
Since 1762, Rheinsberg has had its own ceramics manufacturing industry which gained fame through the blue, rounded Rheinsberg teapot. In the museum visitors can trace the history of ceramics production through collections, photographs and documents. There is also a museum shop where you can buy lovely ceramic pieces to take home. Rheinsberg Palace Museum
Rheinsberg Palace is not only beautiful from the outside but is also rather impressive on the inside. Go on a tour through the palace and view the Hall of Mirrors with its six windows, the richly decorated Muschelsaal (shell hall), the paintings gallery and the former rooms of Princess Amalie, Prince Henry's sister. Tucholsky Museum
The Tucholsky Museum is devoted to the important German author, satirist and social critic Kurt Tucholsky who visited Rheinsberg in 1911 and chose it as the setting for one of his novels. The museum is also located in Rheinsberg Palace and contains a permanent exhibition on his life and work as well as temporary exhibitions on contemporary fine art.
