For example, the Farmhouse Museum is devoted to the rural social history of the 19th century. The Natural History Museum is housed in the Spiegelhof building. Farmhouse Museum
Bielefeld's Farmhouse Museum was built in 1917 and is the oldest open-air museum in Westphalia. It focuses on providing a picture of rural life in the 1850s and illustrates life on the farm as a complex economic and social system. In the grounds of the museum you can tour a trestle windmill (1686), a bakehouse (1764), an old storehouse (Spieker) (1795) and a horse mill (1826). Some of the guided tours on offer have been specially designed to cater for disabled visitors. namu - Natural History Museum
