Route of Industrial Heritage
This scenic route has 52 striking reminders of the Ruhr area's industrial past and present. The world's largest tourist network for exploring a region's industrial heritage, the route runs from the Chemiepark in Marl in the north to Hagen's Westphalian open-air museum in the south. Visitors can discover industrial sites of national importance and workers' estates designed by famous architects, as well as museums and panoramic routes on this 400-km circuit. Movie Park Germany
This theme park near Bottrop was opened in the mid 1990's as "Warner Bros. Movie World". With five different sections relating to the fascinating world of film, it has everything you'd expect from a theme park: loop-the-loop roller coasters, water attractions, a 4D cinema and a stunt show. The park also has two soundproof film studios, which are of particular importance for film production in both Germany and Europe. CentrO
The CentrO in Oberhausen is just a few kilometres from Duisburg. Covering an area of around 70,000 square metres, it is the largest shopping mall and leisure centre in Europe offering an amazing selection of shops, eating places and leisure facilities for people of all ages.
