Art & culture
This university town, steeped in tradition, is a cultural hub of south-west Germany. Musically, it has a rich programme from classical concerts in the concert hall to jazz performances in the Jazz House. Thanks to Freiburg's mild climate, many events are able to take place outdoors. The theatre scene is equally diverse, with a number of municipal and private venues. The Concert Hall
The Freiburg concert hall stages international conferences, congresses and concerts of various musical genres throughout the year. Jazz House
The Jazz House was established by jazz lovers to promote jazz music and as an education centre for young musicians. It still performs this function today, providing a platform for concerts and workshops by local and more widely known jazz musicians. E-Werk
This industrial monument is now one of Freiburgs fringe theatre venues and also hosts occasional pop, rock and classical music concerts.
