Suggested excursions
Come and explore the Baltic Sea coast, have fun and relax! Watersports enthusiasts, mussel and amber collectors, and nature lovers will all be in their element here. Warnemünde
Warnemünde is a seaside resort north of Rostock famous for its lighthouse and harbour, also known as the "Alter Strom". The lighthouse was built in 1897 and from the top there are magnificent views over Warnemünde and the surrounding area. The harbour is filled with cruise ships, yachts, small sailing boats and lifeboats. You can buy freshly caught seafood and fish straight from the fishing boats. Hanseatic town of Rostock
Rostock's history goes back almost 800 years but it is still a young town. Once an important member of the Hanseatic League the town has retained much of its original charm. Gabled houses from different periods and the magnificent churches bear witness to the wealth of merchants in the Middle Ages. Often the first thing you'll notice when approaching the town is the 117 metre high steeple of St. Peter's church. Kühlungsborn
Lying between Wismar and Rostock on the Mecklenburg Bight, the Baltic sea resort of Kühlungsborn is a lovely place to visit for its long sandy beach and historic spa buildings. It combines an old-fashioned charm with modern comforts and all the atmosphere of a seaside resort. Germany's longest beach promenade is great for walks beside the sea.
