Permanent exhibitions
Münster's museums offer a range of interesting exhibitions throughout the year. If you have a weakness for modern art, the permanent exhibition at the regional museum is just the thing. Horse-lovers can learn about the history of this regal animal in the museum at the all-weather-zoo. The Open-air Museum has an impressive exhibition about traditional Westphalian life. Westphalian regional museum - Cremer collection
The Westphalian regional museum houses the permanent exhibition entitled "Cremer Collection Foundation. The collection includes 107 prestigious works from the 1960s and 1970s (including works by Beuys, Filliou, Fontana, Hains, Manzoni, Paik, Rainer, Spoerri, Vostell, Zangs, and 51 works by Dieter Roth). It also features 78 architectural fantasies by Hermann Finsterlin. "Horses and People in Westphalia"
The Hippomax the Westphalian Horse Museum at Münster's all-weather zoo has 1,000m² of exhibition space dedicated to eight main themes about the natural and cultural history of the horse in Westphalia, and a number of other equestrian themes. Mühlenhof Open Air Museum
Historical buildings have been moved from their original location to the open-air museum. Some of them have been reconstructed and now house historical items that give an insight into the living habits of the people that once resided in them. Experience the region around Münster as it used to be: around the fire, in the mill house or at the village shop.
