Events
The "Eurocityfest", the "Mitten in Münster" weekend of culture which includes the "night of the museums and galleries", and the Christmas markets set against the historical backdrop of the city centre all provide good reasons to visit Münster. The all-weather zoo, the Westphalian Horse Museum and the Mühlenhof Open-air Museum, where the International Kite Festival takes place every year, ensure there is never a moment of boredom. And three times a year, Münster plays host to the massive "Send" festival and funfair. Eurocityfest
The "Eurocityfest" is not only a town festival attracting large numbers of visitors to Münster from around the region. It is also a showcase for the region in the heart of Münster and documents the links between the city and the surrounding area. International Kite Festival
At the International Kite Festival, the skies over Lake Aasee are filled with kites of every colour, shape and size imaginable. This weekend event in the summer also includes an evening kite-flying event with an impressive show. "Send" festival and funfair
The "Send" is the largest festival and funfair in the Münsterland region. Three times a year, Hindenburgplatz square in front of the castle is filled with traditional fairground rides and the latest sensational thrills from all over Germany. Approx. 250 showmen vie for attention in an area covering 40,000m² in front of the castle.
