Nature & greenery
If you are looking for rest and relaxation in Neuss you won't have far to look. There is a wide range of gardens and parks in the town including Selikumer Park, the old municipal park and the Botanical Gardens. Selikumer Park and arboretum
Selikumer Park is located in the south-east of Neuss and running through it are a number of walking trails and a network of moats. Two hectares of the park are given over to an arboretum, a tree museum containing living specimens of the most diverse range of ecologically important trees. You may also spot some fallow deer in the large game enclosure. Old municipal park
Together with the new municipal park and the promenade along the north canal, the old municipal park is the most important green space in Neuss town centre. The rose garden, pond and large children's play area make it a popular spot for the whole family. One of the highlights for children is the locomotive in the large play area. Botanical Gardens
When they were first founded, the Botanical Gardens in the south of town used to be a botanical school garden. Today the gardens showcase the world of plants in all its beauty and diversity. The large aviary is another attraction which draws many visitors to the gardens. With the changing of the seasons the Botanical Gardens present different aspects of the world of plants.
