Events
Rosenheim offers a variety of events for all ages. The Rosenheim autumn festival is like a mini Oktoberfest and the Rosenheim town festival features a range of stage performances. The Christmas market, for which the old quarter makes a splendid backdrop, gives the town a peaceful, traditional festive feel. Rosenheim autumn festival
The last Saturday in August marks the start of Rosenheim's "fifth season". For 16 days the autumn festival dominates the life of the town, and Bavarian traditions are celebrated in a variety of ways. There is a harvest festival on the second Sunday, an outdoor act of worship on Max-Josefs-Platz square, followed by a colourful procession of people wearing traditional costume. The festival ends in style with a huge firework display. Rosenheim town festival
Rosenheim town festival is held every two years in the summer, encompassing a number of streets and squares in the town centre. It offers fun for all age groups - music of all kinds performed on several stages, plays, street performers and many other attractions. Christmas market
When the Christmas market opens in the run-up to Christmas, Max-Josefs-Platz square takes on a wonderfully festive feel. The seasonal mood is enhanced by the Inn-Salzach-style houses with their historical façades and by Alpine choirs, brass bands and groups performing traditional German music.
