There are many cultural events and entertaining festivals in Marbach and the surrounding region throughout the year. Of course you can just spend time relaxing and doing nothing, but who knows what you may be missing? The "Hannenherbst" is a very special wine festival. Horse lovers will be enthralled by the atmosphere of the Parade of Stallions, and by the speed and beauty of the animals on display. The annual Schiller celebrations have been extended to form a week-long Schiller Festival. Hannenherbst Festival
The first weekend in September is the wine festival (Kelterfest und Hannenherbst) in Marbach. Wine lovers from far and near gather to sample the fine wines and delicious foods. There are more than 30 varieties of wine, sparking wine, liqueur and spirits to try. The wine cocktails are a particular highlight. Creative games keep the young and young at heart entertained. The Parade of Stallions takes place every year in late September/early October and draws many thousands of horse lovers and breeders. The event is organised by the Marbach stud farm and takes place over two weekends. As well as showing off mares and stallions of various breeds, the parade also demonstrates the many ways in which horses are used for sports and leisure pursuits. Schiller Festival
"Schiller Festival" has become an annual event in Marbach since its inception in 1998. Held around Schiller's birthday on 10 November and featuring a wide variety of cultural events, it provides a forum which emphasises the town's association with the poet and dramatist Friedrich Schiller, and his continuing importance today.
