Travel back to the Renaissance
Embark on a journey back in time to one of the most innovative periods in human history. Along a route through the Weserbergland hills, six historical sites give visitors the chance to discover the important events that took place during the Renaissance and how people lived their daily lives. With audio commentary, authentic sound effects and historical locations, you can experience the exciting time of the Renaissance – the bridge from the Middle Ages to the modern age – as if you were actually there.

Hamlyn Museum is well worth a visit, not just for its impressive Pied Piper exhibition. The museum in Coppenbrügge Castle has exhibits on natural history and historical craft workshops, and the Mining Museum in the village of Osterdorf, housed in a former coal mine, brings this industry to life for visitors.

The Renaissance World of Discovery in the historic Wedding House offers a completely new way to learn about the cultural history of the Weser region. Every year culture lovers can enjoy around 200 productions by different theatre companies at the Hamlyn Theatre.
