Suggested excursions
Baden-Baden is ideal for excursions: wine tasting in the surrounding winegrowing area, the Black Forest Ridgeway to Freudenstadt, Lake Mummelsee and Baiersbronn, the Kinzig valley and the Baden Wine Route. Or cross over into Alsace and go shopping in Strasbourg. Stuttgart, Heidelberg, Freiburg and Europa-Park Rust also make excellent day trips. Baden Wine Route
Baden is Germany's third-largest wine-producing region. The Baden Wine Route runs from Ortenau in the north, through Breisgau to the Kaiserstuhl and Tuniberg regions before converging - south of Freiburg - with the three routes of the Markgräflerland region . From Baden-Baden it runs in a southerly direction through the Rebland, Baden-Baden's wine-growing country. The route meanders through the vineyards and orchards in the foothills of the Black Forest and is lined with idyllic little wine-growing villages. The Black Forest Panoramic Road
The B500 is a well-known panoramic road between Baden-Baden and Freudenstadt with fantastic views over dark pine forests and green valleys, waterfalls and romantic mountain lakes. There are many signposted trails for walkers. Europa-Park
Germany's biggest theme park in Rust near Freiburg offers fun for all the family.
