Frankfurt's exhibition grounds are the third-largest in the world with a net area of 1,417,486m². They have a central, inner-city location and are linked to Frankfurt's comprehensive network of autobahns. In keeping with its status as a significant transport hub, Frankfurt also boasts the busiest train station in Germany and the largest airport in mainland Europe, both just a few minutes from the trade fair. Frankfurt's exhibition grounds encompass an area of 475,000m²; 324,000m² in ten halls with a further 83,000m² of outdoor grounds. The Festhalle festival hall (hall 2), with its domed roof rising to a height of 40m, is used to stage all kinds of one-off events. The two-storey Hall 5 boasts an excellent load-bearing construction, making it suitable for very heavy exhibits.
