The old town is encircled by a tree-lined avenue. Two of its most attractive parks are Dörnbergpark, laid out in the English-style, and Herzogspark, a charming garden surrounding Württemberg Palace, now home of the natural history museum. Herzogspark (Ducal Park)
The park on the banks of the Danube is part of a green belt that surrounds the old quarter. The tower in the park with the Prebrunn gate was part of the medieval town walls and dates back to the 13th century. There are lovely views of Regensburg and the surrounding area from here.
