Although compact and easy to get around, the town has a large number of bookshops stocking a wide range of classical German and Weimar literature. The china shops sell a lot of Weimar's well-known porcelain as souvenirs, and wine from the Saale-Unstrut region is also available. Jewellery and antique shops are also popular with visitors looking for something special Schillerstrasse and Wielandstrasse
The pedestrianised streets of Schillerstrasse and Wielandstrasse offer a wide variety of shops large and small selling a huge range of goods. Small cafés are dotted among the shops, providing a well-earned rest from shopping. In Schillerstrasse there are also several notable places of interest, such as the Schiller Museum, Haus Weimar museum and other historic sites further north on Theaterplatz square.
