The only still preserved large Hohenzollern palace in Berlin is both a museum of art and of history. This complex of buildings gardens, monuments, decorative interiors and collections created over a period of three hundred years dating from 1695 brings home to the viewer in vivid fashion the court culture and promotion of the arts prevailing in Brandenburg-Prussia at the time of the Great Elector (1620-1688), whose equestrian statue by Andreas Schluter dominates the Grest Courtyard.
