Christmas Markets in the East

Bautzen

Bautzen's Christmas market has a long tradition going as far back as 1384. Around 80 traders and food stalls offer their wares in the town centre, which has beautiful Christmas decorations. Each day Father Christmas opens another window of the Advent calendar on Hauptmarkt. There are some 50 cultural events, including Christmas concerts, carol singing and cutting the "stollen" cake.
