Jena

The first cut into the giant Stollen traditionally marks the opening of Jena's Christmas market. The towering Christmas tree with thousands of fairy lights bathes the historical market place in a gentle glow. Every day at 5pm the Christmas trumpet fanfare sounds, and you might just comes across Father Christmas as you stroll around under the twinkling lights. Also great fun are the fairground rides on Eichplatz square.
