Weissenfels

At 3pm on 4 December, the Christmas market on the historical market square is ceremoniously opened by Father Christmas, Frau Holle and the Christmas Angels. It features a Christmas tree, a giant Christmas pyramid, a nutcracker, a little fairytale street and wooden Christmas huts. At the weekends, there are performances on the Christmas stage, children can bake cookies and the baker bakes Advent and Christmas breads in a wood oven. There are special exhibitions and craft demonstrations in the baroque town hall.
