The Christmas market in Flensburg, right on the Danish border, fills Südermarkt square with beautifully decorated stalls selling crafts and Christmas treats. Bathed in the gentle glow of the giant Christmas tree and Christmas pyramid, the stalls stretch all along the pedestrian area as far as Nordermarkt, with 60 traders from Germany and Denmark displaying their wares. Among the choir performances, processions and kids' surprises, there's plenty of scope to learn more about the two neighbouring countries.
