Garmisch-Partenkirchen has two Christmas markets where you can soak up the festive atmosphere: the Christkindlmarkt in Partenkirchen on historical Ludwigstrasse and the Christmas market in Garmisch, where houses adorned with beautiful Lüftl art overlook the traditional stalls and stands - a magical scene in which to enjoy stollen cake washed down with a mug of glühwein. On Christmas Eve, the Garmisch market closes at 2pm.
