This pretty Christmas market around Ansbach town hall on Martin Luther square is overlooked by the churches of St. John and St. Gumbert: a splendid backdrop for a time-honoured festive tradition. Under a sea of lights, 40 seasonal stalls offer yuletide decorations, candles and hand-crafted wares, including socks, scarves and gloves - comfy, warm and knitted by hand. Enjoy hearty bratwurst sausages, hot, spiced glühwein (with or without the alcohol) and all manner of yuletide treats such as gingerbread, stollen, roasted almonds and Christmas cookies. Local choirs and ensembles are sure to get you into the spirit of the season in this festively illuminated setting.
