Christmas Markets


Michelstadt (Odenwald)

Over 100 beautiful little wooden huts in the streets and passageways around the half-timbered town hall (1484) create a wonderfully festive feel. Highlights include an enchanting Nativity scene with life-size figures, a seven-metre Christmas pyramid, an angel scene and a brightly coloured wooden musical box of enormous proportions. Father Christmas on his reindeer sleigh also makes an appearance to the delight of the children. In the winery tasting hall, sculptors, wood turners, ivory carvers and carpenters present their artistic creations - perfect for decorations and Christmas gifts. The bakery is a great place to warm up and provides sustenance in the form of delicious festive treats and local specialities.
