Passau's Christkindlmarkt is set against the glorious backdrop of St. Stephen's Cathedral. Yuletide offerings available at more than 70 festive stalls include stocking fillers, arts and crafts and regional specialities. Children are guaranteed a good covering of snow every day, and there are plenty of cultural events to enjoy. Be sure to catch one of the organ recitals in St. Stephen's Cathedral. Performed on the biggest cathedral organ in the world, they take place every Wednesday and Saturday from 12 noon to 12.30pm. The Christmas market also serves as a gallery for artists who display their works amid the stalls as well as in their studios. Nativity scenes of historical significance spanning several centuries can be seen on the Nativity trail through the old quarter. Town guides show you Passau in all its wintery charm on the 'Christmas magic' and 'Glittering Passau' tours.
