Reutlingen

The lights, the delicious aromas and the sound of bells will bring a smile to your face at Reutlingen's Christmas market. The stalls - laden with glittering tree decorations and culinary delights from around the world - are clustered around St. Mary's Church and reach as far as Albtorplatz square in the pedestrian area. Gentle festive music plays in the background, and fairytales are narrated in the Mongolian yurt tent, where children can enjoy fun, games and excitement in the company of teachers and performers. Children in particular will love the Nativity scene with its petting zoo, the kids' bakery and the activities workshop. Don't miss the high-tech Advent calendar with computer-controlled visuals at the Natural History Museum or the daily visit by St. Nicholas, who hands out gifts to the children. For a fun way to enjoy the winter weather, Reutlingen has a natural ice rink that covers 300 square metres, where you might recall fond childhood memories of skating on lakes or frozen ponds.
