Nothing says Christmas quite like the sight of more than 160 stalls, laden with yuletide wares, on a brightly lit square in the heart of Bochum. The winter-themed programme holds many surprises and there is new entertainment to enjoy every day, from traditional miners' choirs and gospel singers on the Christmas stage to children's theatre and fairytale worlds for kids, including the chance to meet Father Christmas. Bochum gives you a taste of how Germany does the festive season, with its giant gingerbread houses and Christmas beer available from the unique mobile brewery. The 'nostalgia market' on Schützenbahn offers a flavour of Christmas past under the glow of five fairylight chandeliers, which are usually only found in Vienna. It's a magnificent shopping experience for all to enjoy.
