A stroll through Düsseldorf with its beautifully illuminated Königsallee is a real treat in the build-up to the festive season. The Christmas markets in six locations across the city all have their own particular charm. The 'little angel' market on Heinrich-Heine-Platz is an art nouveau delight and there are old-fashioned stalls at which artisans demonstrate their craft around the historical town hall and the equestrian statue of Jan Wellems. Around the Königsallee there are specially designed theme worlds offering festive journeys of discovery. More than 230 seasonally decorated booths and the 450 square metre ice rink transform the centre of Düsseldorf into a winter wonderland. The atmosphere is particularly sociable at the popular glühwein pyramid. At the 'little star' market on Stadtbrückchen, glittering stars bathe the sky blue stalls in a beautiful festive glow.
