Christmas Markets


Göttingen

Göttingen’s Christmas market on Marktplatz has a magical atmosphere with rows of booths around the medieval old town hall, the Goose Girl statue and St. John’s Church. Don’t miss the many fascinating craft demonstrations given by carpenters, woodcarvers, candlemakers, glassblowers and potters. Kids will simply adore the old-fashioned Ferris wheel. When stomachs begin to rumble, traditional stalls sell bratwurst, glühwein and other Christmas treats such as waffles, roasted almonds, toffee apples and sweet chestnuts.
