Weiden's Christmas market was first recorded as long ago as 1600, making it the second oldest in Bavaria. The old town hall, St. Michael's Church and the Renaissance-gabled houses of the old quarter provide a romantic setting for this festival for all the senses. The old town hall is transformed into a giant Advent calendar. Every day a new window is opened by two angels. Music is played on the town hall steps and Father Christmas hands out gifts. See children's eyes light up at the fairytale houses and the fountain Nativity scene.
