Seasonal splendour: the perfect description of the Christmas market at Charlottenburg Palace. Spectacular, enchanting illuminations add an unusual ambience to the impressive baroque residence. 150 caterers and stallholders from around the world present hand-made arts and crafts, festive extravaganzas, and - in the heated Christmas marquee - elegant jewellery, accessories, historical furniture, antique lamps and wooden articles. There are gourmet treats and hearty delights to discover in 36 pagoda tents, the traditional Tyrolean lodge, the large farmer's cottage and the Russian log cabin. The extensive programme of carol singing on stage, the barrel organs, the musicians in historical costumes and the classical concerts make your visit one to remember. Every evening, the palace opens to the public and revives the joys of Christmases past with traditional delights and tables laden with presents in the old-fashioned way. There is also a 'Royal Christmas Market' for children.
