Many German supermarkets still offer a wide range of products which were available in the GDR era and which re-appeared on the shelves of the stores after the Fall of the Berlin Wall. They often carry special labels for easy identification. Many manufacturers stuck to the old package design or ingredients to increase their nostalgic value. Right next to the Town Hall in Weimar is a "GDR shop" which offers lots of "imitated" goods that are now available again after they had disappeared. These include typical stuffed animals, candy and cookies, as well as books with traditional recipes. At the fish market in Erfurt, you can find the "Rotstern" confectionery shop and a store which offers "ViBA" chocolates that were very popular in the GDR era.
