Northern Germany's biggest museum of natural history seduces with its architecture alone. The central collection is housed in a monastery church in early Gothic style. The choir apse concentrates on the topic of whales. Under the impressive cupola of Catherine Hall the exhibition "man and animal" informs on the practical use of the oceans for the world population. 40 aquariums and a trawler complete the exhibition. For Easter 2008, the museum will receive an attractive addition with the newly constructed OZEANEUM.
