A miracle of nature with its sandstone formations is "Saechsische Schweiz" (Saxon Switzerland) close to Dresden. Discover the German Alps and Germany's highest mountain; the "Zugspitze" in the state of Bavaria.
Or make a trip to popular Luneburger Heath in the northern part of Germany.
