Special tip
At the hands-on, interactive exhibition which opened at the "RömerWelt am Caput Limitis" in Rheinbrohl in August 2008, visitors can find out what life was like for the Romans stationed on the Limes some 2,000 years ago.

On the trail of Romans, knights and winegrowers
The Upper Middle Rhine Valley, a UNESCO world heritage site, is the epitome of a romantic German castle landscape. The scenery, the delightful towns and the Loreley are all best appreciated from the water.
A cruise on the Rhine and its tributary the Moselle leads through a fertile winegrowing area where vines thrive in sheltered valleys. Besides the stately homes, the medieval castles, the Roman towns and the towns associated with the Nibelung saga, such as Worms, Mainz and Koblenz, there are lots of places to visit a little further away from these rivers: the slate hills of the Hunsrück, the fens and crater lakes of the Eifel, many of which are great for swimming, and the Taunus, the "green lungs" of the Rhine-Main region. Discover the myths surrounding the Rhine while your children play knights and damsels. The riverbanks also have plenty to discover. How about a detour to Klotten wildlife and leisure park, just a short ride on the chairlift from Cochem. It has large animal enclosures as well as an adventure area with a rollercoaster, a dinghy water slide and other attractions.
