The Baltic
The Baltic: a multi-faceted gem
Germany's Baltic coast has much more than one type of scenery to offer. The wide beaches along the Baltic with their fine, pale white sand inspired the building style favoured by well-to-do clients in the 18th and 19th centuries: classical villa-style architecture. Wellness devotees and water sports enthusiasts are in their element here. The land along the coast is lovely and green. Just a glimpse of the hills and forests is enough to make you forget all about your everyday cares. In many places, the coastal scenery is dominated by sheer cliffs and steep rock faces. The Bodden, shallow bays cut off from the Baltic, are a unique natural phenomenon. Come and see for yourself how sand is washed up to form new land.
