Christmas Markets

Oldenburg

A Christmas market full of seasonal aromas; copyright: Tourist-Information Oldenburg
St. Lambert's market in Oldenburg has more than 120 wooden huts and stalls adorned with fir in the festively decorated old quarter, a veritable Christmas village. This magical scene is overlooked by St. Lambert's Church - the brick-built church that gives the market its name - the Old Town Hall and the ducal residence. Christmas music and the aromas of seasonal specialities enhance the atmosphere, and there are hot chestnuts, baked apples, German gingerbread and other delicious Christmas treats to enjoy. You can also try some hot rum punch made in huge copper kettles. If you are stuck for gift ideas, St. Lambert's market has plenty of traditional handmade items that make perfect Christmas presents. Late-night shopping on 4 December allows you to browse even longer.
